3 Spring Throw Pillow Combinations to Refresh Your Living Room

If you’ve followed along with my home decor posts for a while, you know that I’ve always leaned heavily into neutral palettes. Soft whites, natural textures, and warm wood tones have always been the backbone of my style.
But lately, I’ve been craving a little more color in our home.
Not bold, chaotic color… but layered, thoughtful color. The kind that still feels calm and timeless but adds richness, personality, and warmth to a space. I want our home to feel lived in, welcoming, and creative. A place that reflects our family and the life we’re building inside these walls.
One of the easiest (and most affordable) ways I’ve found to do that is through throw pillows.
For this spring refresh, I kept coming back to the same two pillow styles: a soft, textured scalloped pillow cover and a beautiful chinoiserie-inspired block print pillow with a delicate ruffle edge. Together they strike the perfect balance. The scalloped pillow is simple and slightly whimsical, while the block print adds pattern, movement, and that timeless grandmillennial-meets-east-coast charm I love.
I also love pairing them in two different sizes — a 20x20 scalloped pillow with an 18x18 printed pillow layered in front. The slight size difference keeps the arrangement from feeling stiff while letting the pattern shine.
Here are the three spring throw pillow combinations I’m loving this year:

Pink, Salmon & Navy
This combination feels both classic and playful. The soft pink and salmon tones bring warmth and femininity, while the navy accents in the block print keep the palette grounded.
Paired with the scalloped pillow in a coordinating shade, the look feels elegant without being overly formal. The block print pattern adds just enough visual interest while the scalloped edge keeps the whole pairing feeling light and springy.
This colorway is perfect for brightening up a neutral sofa, a reading chair, or even layered on a bed for a soft, romantic look.

Sage Green & Eucalyptus
If you love bringing the outdoors in, this palette is such a beautiful option. The sage and eucalyptus tones feel fresh, calming, and organic — perfect for spring.
The block print design adds texture and movement, while the ruffled edge gives it that soft, collected feel that works so well in relaxed living spaces. Paired with the scalloped pillow, it creates a layered look that still feels light and airy.
This combination works beautifully with natural materials like linen, light wood tones, and woven textures.

Cornflower Blue, Baby Blue & Navy
This combination is really giving East Coast summer and it's some of my favorite colors and patterns. Blues are one of my favorite ways to add color while still keeping a space feeling calm and timeless. This palette mixes soft baby blue with deeper navy accents in the block print for a combination that feels fresh but still grounded.
The scalloped pillow adds that subtle touch of charm, while the bold pattern of the printed pillow gives the pairing depth and personality.
It’s the kind of combination that instantly makes a room feel brighter and more inviting — perfect for spring and summer.
A Simple Way to Add Color Without Overwhelming a Space
What I love most about these pillow combinations is that they add color, texture, and personality without overwhelming a room.
The scalloped pillow keeps things soft and simple, while the block print brings that rich, collected look that makes a home feel layered and lived in.
And honestly, that’s exactly what I want our home to be — not perfectly styled, not sterile, but warm, welcoming, and full of life.
Sometimes all it takes is a few thoughtfully chosen pillows to make a space feel completely refreshed for a new season.
