If Valentine’s Day snuck up on you this year, you’re not alone. Between school drop-offs, snack duty, work, and everything else on your plate, class valentines can easily become a last-minute scramble. The good news? You don’t have to sacrifice cute for convenience.
Printable valentines are one of my favorite DIY valentines solutions because they’re fast, affordable, and unique! Just print, cut, and pair them with a small toy or snack—and you’re done. This time last year, I was scrambling to create cute valentines for my daughter's classmates that were affordable and also allergy-friendly, so I came up with a few different ideas to (hopefully!) save you a little time!
Below are some of my favorite class valentine ideas that work perfectly for school parties, including options that are allergy-friendly and low-sugar... a win for teachers and parents alike! All of these printable valentines are PDF downloads from my Etsy store and formatted on 8.5x11" pages for easy at-home printing!
Kids Sunglasses Valentines – “You Brighten My Day”
*My top best-seller on Etsy!
These kids sunglasses valentines are a bright and cheerful option that feels fun without involving candy. The card reads “You brighten my day” and pairs perfectly with inexpensive kids sunglasses.
This is a great choice for allergy-friendly valentine swaps or classrooms that prefer food-free valentines. Teachers also love this option because it avoids adding extra sugar to the school day while still giving kids something they’ll actually use.
Simply print the valentines, cut them out, and attach the sunglasses with a small piece of washi tape or place them together in a clear bag! Pictured above, I used washi tape and I also slipped them into a clear bag before sending them off to school with my daughter.

Rubber Ducky Valentines – “Valentine, You Quack Me Up”
This rubber ducky valentine is one of my favorites—and my daugher's! For the first three years of her life, she had a rubber ducky obsession. These valentines are hand-drawn and true to my hand lettering style with a watercolor gingham background for a classic-meets-playful feel!
Paired with a small rubber duck toy - I linked the ones I bought on Amazon above or you can shop them here. This is another fantastic non-candy valentine that works well for allergy-aware classrooms or teachers who don’t want to sugar up their students. Ducks are inexpensive, easy to buy in bulk, and truly a hit with kids of all ages!
Applesauce Pouch Valentines – “Valentine, You’re My Main Squeeze”
I feel like applesauce pouches have become a Valentine's Day staple as of late. Applesauce pouches are so universal, easy, affordable, and typically safe for allergy-friendly classes. This design reads “Valentine, you’re my main squeeze” and features a hand-drawn apple illustration.
They pair best with applesauce pouches, making them easy to assemble and school-approved in many classrooms. This is a great middle-ground option for parents who want a consumable valentine without going overboard on sweets.
Berry Snack Valentines – “I’m Berry Happy We’re Friends”
Full disclosure, these are what I'll be sending to school this year! Fruit gummies are my daughter's favorite snacks and with so many "healthier" options now, I don't feel too guilty for sending in sweets to preschool.
These berry-themed printable valentines feature hand lettering and a sweet strawberry illustration. The phrase “I’m berry happy we’re friends” makes them ideal for pairing with berry-flavored gummies, fruit snacks, or any strawberry- or berry-inspired treat.
Don't Forget About Your Teachers!
In the haste to get the right number of valentines done for the class, it's easy to overlook the teachers for Valentine's Day. Last year, I put together these super cute "Thanks a latte for all you do" printable gift card holders and I simply taped on a Starbucks gift card and packaged them up in a clear bag with a bow to show a little love for our teachers too!
Why Printable Valentines Are a Lifesaver
Printable valentines make last-minute class parties so much easier. You can print them at home, pair them with simple items, and still send something thoughtful and fun to school. Whether you’re looking for food-free options, allergy-friendly swaps, or just adorable DIY valentines, these ideas are designed to make Valentine’s Day stress-free.
If you’re short on time but still want your child’s valentines to feel special, these printable valentines are an easy solution that kids (and teachers!) will love.
